Apost pertaining to the Commissioner-cum-Secretary of the Department of Mission Shakti, Sujata R Karthikeyan that was shared on BJD MP Amar Patnaik's Facebook page kicked off a controversy after going viral.

On Patnaik's Facebook page, a post from 'Sujata R Karthikeyan Fan Club' was shared asking for suggestions regarding the Commissioner-cum-Secretary.

“If Mission Shakti Odisha’s secretary and commissioner #Sujata_Rout_Kartikeyan quits government job and becomes an MLA candidate from her birthplace Kendrapada district #Patkura constituency, then what is your opinion,” the shared post read. (sic).

Soon after the post went viral, the Parliamentarian came out with a clarification.
In his clarification, the MP mentioned that his account has been hacked and he urged everyone not to believe in the contents of the post.

“Someone seems to have hacked into my FB account to spread rumours. I am reporting the matter & investigating the same. Request not to get taken in by such rumour-mongering,” Patnaik posted in his clarification.

Earlier in March, when it was alleged that Mission Shakti women members were being used in politics, the Commissioner-cum-Secretary had responded saying, “Mission Shakti always provides women a platform to take up leadership roles. If women from the SHGs are participating in politics, we shouldn’t criticize them because it is their matter of right and choice.”
